D2CL Change their Playoffs Stage and Tease Two Invited Teams
Epic Esports Events have announced an updated format for the playoffs stage of Dota 2 Champions League 2021 Season 2. On top of that, the organizers have teased two “secret guests”.
The playoffs stage has been split into two divisions. In the upper division, six best teams of the group stage will compete with two currently unannounced invited teams. Meanwhile the second division will have teams from the 7th to 10th place in the group. Both divisions will feature a double-elimination bracket with regular series being best-of-three and grand finals being best-of-five.
D2CL 2 has started this Monday with a group stage, where ten teams compete in a single round-robin group. Currently the leaders of the group are Hellbear Smashers (3-0) and Nemiga Gaming (2-0), while Spider Pigzs (0-2) and Winstrike Team (0-2) are at the bottom of the pack. The groups will conclude on August 2nd, while the playoffs stage is scheduled for August 4th – 8th.
