Elephant to Retain their Roster for the Next Season
Elephant to Retain their Roster for the Next Season
Elephant’s manager Dong Hang has announced that the team will not be making changes in the roster for the upcoming season. This statement plays down recent rumours claiming that multiple members of the team, including Lu "Somnus丶M" Yao, Zhou "Yang" Haiyang, and Xu "fy" Linsen, might transfer to Team Aster.
The team was assembled in late 2020, consisting of some of the most accomplished players of the Chinese region. Since then the team has not changed a single member, and signed Bai "rOtK" Fan for the coach position this March.
Despite their enormous potential, the team has not managed to live up to expectations. This year they finished 5th in both seasons of the Chinese DPC Upper Division, failing to secure a direct invite to The International 10. The team however managed to win the regional qualifier for TI10.
There Elephant played on Group B, where they finished pre-last with a 2-2-4 score. In the first round of the lower bracket they were defeated by Evil Geniuses, placing 13th – 16th at the event and receiving $600,300 in prize money.
Since the conclusion of The International 10, Elephant and other Chinese teams remain in Romania as they are unable to return to their home country due to travel restrictions related to COVID-19.
