ESIC Investigate whether Heroic Players were Involved in HUNDEN’s Bug Abuse

The Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) has launched an investigation into current and former Heroic’s players, who may have participated in the spectator bug abuse by their coach Nicolai "HUNDEN" Petersen. On September 4th, the commission received information from HUNDEN that allegedly provides evidence that the players were complicit in his exploits. ESIC decided to declassify the investigation and will publish regular updates.

The commission stresses that earlier HUNDEN testified that he had exploited the bug without knowledge of his teammates. Recently however HUNDEN changed his position, stating that at least some of the team’s members were involved in his abuses. The players in question are Casper "cadiaN" Møller, René "TeSeS" Madsen, and Martin "stavn" Lund, who still play for Heroic, as well as Nikolaj "niko" Kristensen (now in OG) and Johannes "b0RUP" Borup (now in MAD Lions).

HUNDEN was one of the first coaches to be banned by ESIC for a spectator bug abuse in 2020. Last month he received another ban from the commission, this time for two years – the coach was accused in sharing Heroic’s confidential information with other unknown organization, allegedly Astralis. HUNDEN denies the allegations; there is an ongoing legal process in Denmark between him and Heroic, who fired even before the ESIC’s verdict.
