IEM Katowice 2021: Liquid Defeat NAVI in Group Stage’s Last Series
The group stage of IEM Katowice 2021 has concluded with Team Liquid defeating Natus Vincere in Group B’s upper bracket finals. Each of the teams managed to win their picked maps – Liquid emerged victorious on Overpass (16:4), while NAVI gained an upper hand on Dust II (16:7). The final map, Inferno, featured two overtimes, ultimately ending in Liquid’s favour with a 22:19 score.
For placing first in their groups, Team Liquid and Team Spirit have advanced directly to the playoffs. Meanwhile, Natus Vincere, Astralis, Gambit Esports and Virtus.pro will compete in the quarterfinals.
The playoffs will follow a single-elimination format with regular matches being best-of-three and the grand finals being best-of-five. Quarterfinals will be played on February 26th, the semifinals will be played on February 27th, and the grand finals will take place on February 28th. The bracket looks as follows:
