IG’s Offlaner Tests Positive for COVID-19
Invictus Gaming have announced that their offlane player Thiay "JT-" Jun Wen has been tested positive for COVID-19. The player was tested yesterday after beginning to feel unwell and getting high body temperature. Currently he is self-isolated, while other members of the team and their staff tested negative.
IG are currently at bootcamp in Bucharest, Romania, preparing for the upcoming International 10. They are located in the same hotel as other Chinese teams – PSG.LGD, Vici Gaming, Team Aster and Elephant. Earlier Team Aster announced that multiple members of their squad got positive tests for COVID-19, among them are three players Ye "Borax" Zhibiao, Lin "Xxs" Jing, and Du "Monet" Peng, as well as their coach Cheng "Mad" Han. Initially IG, Elephant, and Vici stated that their players and staff members tested negative for the virus.
The International 10 begins only in a week, on October 7th. However, PGL asked participants from non-Western countries to come to Bucharest earlier. Currently the country sees a rapid increase in COVID-19 cases. To attend the event, viewers have to be fully vaccinated and wear masks.
