K0nfig Departs Complexity Amidst Rumors of Joining Astralis

Complexity have announced that Kristian "k0nfig" Wienecke is no longer part of their CS:GO roster. The official statement reads that the player “has chosen a different direction for 2022”. Earlier it was reported that the player might join Astralis by the end of the year.

24-years-old k0nfig is a Danish rifler and AWPer who joined Complexity in late 2019. Despite multiple roster changes, the team has been struggling to consistently perform on the highest level – their biggest achievement was the first place at BLAST Premier: Spring 2020 European Finals.

This August k0nfig went inactive due to a wrist injury. Since then his condition has improved significantly – a week ago he explained that his right hand had about 5% less mobility compared to the left hand, and that two weeks of exercises were needed to fully recover.

Following the statement from Complexity, k0nfig jokingly hinted at transitioning to VALORANT, however later explained that he would remain in CS:GO and play for the “bestest in business” team in 2022.

His explanation corresponds to the previous reported information that he is going to join Astralis, as the organization might part ways with Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen, Andreas “Xyp9x” Højsleth, and Emil “Magisk” Reif when their contracts expire by the end of the year.

To replace k0nfig, Complexity brought in Marcelo "coldzera" David as a stand-in. The Brazilian player however has not been able to help the team to improve their results – recently they placed 7th – 9th at BLAST Premier: Fall Groups 2021 and 17th – 20th at IEM XVI – Fall: Europe, failing to qualify for PGL Stockholm Major. It remains unknown whether coldzera will continue playing for the team.
