NAVI and Gambit are the First to be Invited for IEM Katowice 2022

ESL have revealed the first few teams that will participate in next year’s IEM Katowice. Two CIS teams – Gambit Esports and Natus Vincere – are two teams who have been invited to the tournament’s group stage.

Both Gambit and NAVI received their invites due their recent results in the ESL events – NAVI are the champions of recent IEM XVI – Cologne and ESL Pro League 14, while Gambit recently won the RMR-event IEM XVI – Fall: CIS, as well as finished 5th – 8th at both IEM Cologne and EPL 14.

Besides that, ESL have also invited the leaders of the Oceanian and the Asian regions – Renegades and TyLoo. These teams however will start competing from the Play-In stage.

IEM XVI – Katowice is a $1,000,000 event scheduled for February 15th – 27th. The event is expected to take place at Spodek Arena in Katowice, Poland.
