Ninjas in Pyjamas to Continue Playing with LNZ at EPL 14
Ninjas in Pyjamas have confirmed that Linus "LNZ" Holtäng will continue to be a part of the team’s main roster during the upcoming ESL Pro League Season 14. NiP’s COO, Jonas Gundersen, complimented the player’s progress but also stated the he needs more practice and experience playing against top teams.
LNZ is an 18-years-old player, who joined the organization’s youth squad – Young Ninjas – this February. Two months ago he was promoted to the team’s main roster, where he replaced Erik "ztr" Gustafsson. Then the organization stated that LNZ joined the team for just for IEM Summer, while later the team planned to rotate him with another member of the youth squad.
While NiP placed 9th – 12th at IEM XVI – Cologne after defeating Team Liquid (2-1), but losing to Gambit Esports (1-2) and Virtus.pro (0-2) in Group A, the organization’s COO believes that the roster has been showing “great signs of improvement” and if it “keeps going like this, I'm sure he'll [LNZ] be around for many more tournaments”.
Being a permanent member of the league, Ninjas in Pyjamas will compete at EPL 14 in Group D alongside Gambit, FURIA, Liquid, Entropiq and One. The group’s matches will be played from September 1st to 5th, following a round-robin format with best-of-three series.
