OG and FPX Qualified for IEM Summer 2021

OG and FunPlus Phoenix have become the first two teams to qualify for IEM XVI – Summer. Meanwhile FURIA Esports and BIG have been eliminated after losing to FaZe Clan and mousesports respectively in the lower bracket.

Both OG and FPX made it all the way through the upper bracket. OG managed to finish the qualifier without losing a single map – they defeated Trident Clan, FaZe Clan and Movistar Riders. Meanwhile FPX finished all series with a 2-1 score – they outplayed SKADE, BIG and G2 Esports.

The closed qualifier will conclude later today. First, G2 Esports will face FaZe Clan, while Movistar Riders will compete with mousesports – both series are scheduled to start at 12:30 PM UK Time. The winners of these matches will face in other in the lower bracket final, which will begin at 5:00 PM.

IEM Summer 2021 is an online event with a $250,000 prize pool, which is scheduled for June 3rd – 13th. The list of invites teams was revealed earlier last week.
