Sinatraa Denies Sexual Assault Accusations
Overwatch League 2019 champion and current VALORANT player for Sentinels Jay "sinatraa" Won, who yesterday was accused in sexual assault by his ex-girlfriend Cleo Hernandez, has commented on the allegations. His statement reads as follows:
- ”It is clear from Cleo’s recent post that she recalls our relationship differently than I do. What we do agree on is that it was unhealthy for the both of us. I apologize to Cleo and regret how things ended, but I never assaulted her in any way. I am fully cooperating with the investigations and providing the full audio and video clips Cleo referenced in her post.”
Sinatraa is a 20-years-old player from United States, who started competing in 2016 – between 2017 and 2020, he had been playing in Overwatch League for San Francisco Shock, with them he won the 2019 league. Last year he transferred to VALORANT and since then has been representing the American team Sentinels, which recently emerged victorious at VCT 2021: NA Stage 1 Challengers 1.
Following the accusations, the player was suspended by both Sentinels and RIOT Games and will not be able to participate in the upcoming $150,000 event VALORANT Champions Tour 2021: NA Stage 1 Masters. Besides that, Overwatch League will offer refunds for the Alien Zarya skin, which was released as a commemoration for the 2019 league MVP Sinatraa.
