Six Invitational Moved to May, Replacing the Major
Ubisoft have decided to reschedule Six Invitational for May. As a result, the May 2021 Six Major has been cancelled, while it’s $500,000 prize pool will be distributed among the regional leagues. The exact date and location of the event remain unknown.
The event’s line-up and it’s prize pool will remain the same. However, the participants will be able to change their roster during the transfer period between February 22nd and March 7th. If a team releases a player or transfers him to a team that is not qualified for Six Invitational, the player has to be compensated with a portion of the prize money the team will get at the event.
Ubisoft also revealed that the regional leagues will resume already in March. Besides that, they have updated the rules, allowing teams to have up to seven players and replacing draws with overtimes. More info on the upcoming season can be found on the official website.
Six Invitational 2021 was supposed to take place on February 9th – 21st in Paris, France, however it was postponed due to French government banning non-EU citizens from entering the country amidst the rise of COVID-19 cases.
