StarLadder Reveal Participants of the next CIS RMR Event, Including the Infamous Akuma
The Ukrainian tournament organizer who is responsible for the next RMR-event in the CIS region has revealed the participants of the tournament. In accordance to the rules of the series, direct invites have been granted to five leaders of the local rating – among them are Team Spirit, Natus Vincere, Gambit Esports, Virtus.pro and infamous Akuma, who earlier were suspected in cheating but denied the accusations.
Earlier fifteen participants of the previous RMR-event, EPIC League Spring 2021, published an open letter to VALVE stating that they have reasons to believe that Akuma were cheating during official matches at the event. To prevent similar situations from happening in the future, the teams asked to introduce stricter rules for future events. Now StarLadder announce that they will organize the upcoming event with accordance to all proposed changes, among which are:
- A 20+ seconds delay for data providers;
- A 110+ seconds delay on GOTV;
- All voice communications will be recorded;
- Additional cameras capturing monitors of players;
- Matches will be played through the FACEIT platform, using its anti-cheat.
StarLadder CIS RMR 2021 will be played on June 27th – July 4th and feature a $100,000 prize pool. Besides the invited teams, the line-up will also include five teams from the closed qualifiers scheduled for June 18th – 21st. Four teams received direct invites to the qualifiers, they are Entropiq, forZe, K23 and Nemiga Gaming.
