Team Empire’s Offlaner Breaks an Arm a Week before TI10 Qualifiers

Team Empire’s esports director Alexander Stranger Solomonov announced that Maxim "Shachlo" Abramovskikh will not be able to participate in the upcoming qualifiers for The International 10. Recently the player was diagnosed with a fracture in his right arm. It remains unknown who will be his replacement.

Shachlo is a 29-years-old player from Russia, who joined Team Empire just a week ago and did not have a chance to play an official match with them. Being mostly known for his one-year tenure with Gambit Esports (2019 – 2020), this year he played for EXTREMUM. The team competed in the region’s DPC upper bracket, placing 5th in the first season and 8th in the second season.

Team Empire started this year on a high note by winning the regions Decider Tournament, advancing to the upper bracket. However, they finished the first season at the 7th place and were relegated to the lower division. There they managed to place second, potentially returning to the upper division – if the DPC system will remain intact after The International 10.

The CIS qualifier for TI10 is scheduled for June 23rd – 26th. Besides Empire, the line-up includes Spirit, Gambit, NAVI, Unique, PuckChamp, EXTREMUM, HellRaisers, Winstrike, Fantastic Five, Nemiga Gaming, B8, NoTechies and Trident Clan. Meanwhile Prosti Esli, who were supposed to be the first opponents of Team Empire, disbanded and will not play in the qualifiers. For this reason Empire will start the event from the second round of the lower bracket.

Team Empire:

  • Alexey "Smiling Knight" Sviridov
  • Gleb "depressed kid" Ziryanov
  • Oleg "sayuw" Kalenbet
  • Ivan "VANSKOR" Skorokhod
