Team Liquid Place First at LCS Lock-In 2021

The preliminary stage of the North American League of Legends league – LCS Lock-In 2021 – has concluded with Team Liquid defeating Cloud9 (3-2). The winners have claimed the entire of the prize pool, which was set at $150,000.

Liquid started the competition in Group A, where they placed second after defeating TSM, Counter Logic and Golden Guardians, as well as losing to 100 Thieves. Later in the playoffs they outplayed FlyQuest (2-0) and Evil Geniuses (3-0).

Earlier during the offseason Team Liquid changed two players – the toplaner Jung "Impact" Eon-yeong and the jungler Mads "Broxah" Brock-Pedersen left the team and were replaced by Barney "Alphari" Morris (ex-Astralis) and Lucas "Santorin" Tao Kilmer Larsen (ex-FlyQuest).

The main part of League Championship Series is scheduled to begin on February 5th with a group stage, which will feature 10 teams competing in a single group with double round robin format. The spring split will conclude on April 11th.
