Third Season of WePlay Academy League Announced

The Ukrainian tournament organizer WePlay has announced the third season of their CS:GO Academy League. The tournament’s line-up has been increased from eight to ten teams, while the prize pool remained at $100,000.

Besides Astralis Talent, BIG Academ, Fnatic Rising, FURIA Academy, mouz NXT, Natus Vincere Junior, Young Ninjas and VP.Prodigy, who participated in the previous two seasons of the league, this time the line-up also includes Team Spirit Academy and Eternal Fire Academy.

These ten teams will compete in the online stage, which is scheduled for January 3rd – 16th. There they will start in two GSL groups, which look as follows:

  • Group A: NAVI Junior, Young Ninjas, Fnatic Rising, BIG Academy, Astralis Talent
  • Group B: VP.Prodigy, MOUZ NXT, Furia Academy, Team Spirit Academy, Eternal Fire Academy

The winners of the group stage will advance to the offlane stage, while the teams placed 2nd – 5th will compete for the two final playoffs places in the single-elimination Gauntlet Stage.

The event will conclude at WePlay Esports Arena in Kyiv, Ukraine. There on February 15th – 17th four teams will play in a double elimination bracket for the majority of the prize pool, namely for $88,000.
