VALVE Release an Official Rulebook for CS:GO Majors
After a few years of somewhat chaotic Regional Major Rankings circuit, VALVE have decided to publicly release a comprehensive rulebook for both Majors and RMR-events. The book deals with almost all aspects of the events and is available here.
As we reported earlier, VALVE decided to update the regions for the RMR-events – if it is possible to host the events offline, there will be three regions: Europe, America and Asia. However, should the events be held online, there will be five regions instead of previous six – Europe and CIS were merged into one region, while North America, South America, Asia and Oceania remain separate.
Since there will be only one RMR cycle between the majors, there is no longer a reason to have a score system – instead, the events will directly determine the line-up of the majors. Moreover, the teams will be unable to change their rosters between the RMR and the Major.
Earlier PGL announced that they will host this year’s first CS:GO major in Antwerp, Belgium. The event will be held on May 9th – 22th, with its playoffs stage planned to take place at Antwerps Sportpaleis with a 18,000-capacity.
