Virtus.pro and NiP Eliminated from PGL Major Stockholm

Virtus.pro and Ninjas in Pyjamas have become the first two teams to leave the New Champions stage of PGL Major Stockholm 2021. In their quarterfinals VP lost to Heroic (1-2), while Ninjas in Pyjamas were outplayed by G2 Esports (0-2).

The losers of these matches have finished 5th – 8th at the major, receiving $70,000 each. Meanwhile the matches’ winners will face each other in the semifinal, which is scheduled for November 6th, 3:30 PM UK time. It will be the first time they play with each other since Flashpoint 3, which was held six months ago.

Today the event will feature the final two quarterfinals – first, FURIA Esports will face Gambit Esports (3:30 PM), and later Natus Vincere will compete with Team Vitality (7:00 PM). The bracket looks as follows:

The major’s playoffs stage will run until November 7th. Within it, all matches are best-of-three. The tournament’s winner will claim half of its prize pool which is set at $2,000,000.
